Nomination for Otaku Choice Awards (OCA) 2020 is officially open

Nomination for Otaku Choice Awards (OCA) 2020 is officially open from February 13, 2020, until March 16, 2020.  You have the chance to nominate your choice in this year’s award.  Awarding of trophy and certificates will be during Pinoy Otaku Festival (POF) 2020: Godai at Trade Hall, Robinsons Novaliches on May 22, 2020 (Friday).

OCA 2020 Categories

Some of the previous categories had been removed in order to streamline the awards and focus on key awards.  Since the award also entails cost we limit the awards to nine (9) specific categories which we think is essential to the community.  This year we also remove some awards whose attendance we did not see during previous awards.

Categories this year are as follows:

    4. Otaku Choice: JPOP Artist (Singer or Band)

    9. Otaku Choice: Mobile Game
  • SPECIFIC AWARDS

    4. Otaku Choice: Cosplay Costume Maker
    5. Otaku Choice: Photographer

OCA 2020 Nomination

To nominate in the categories above all you have to do is fill out the form below and submit it to us.  Total nominations will be counted and the top 5 for the General Awards and Top 10 for the Specific Awards will proceed to the Voting Stage.

Collecticon 2019 this September

Collecticon 2019 is happening this September 14-15, 2019 at SM Megatrade Hall 3. It will be the celebration of the 11th year of Hobby at Worx. Join one of the longerst running pop culture convention in the Philippines which focuses on collectors and toy enthusiasts. Anime Explosion Returns this April

Anime Explosion Reborn returns on April 27 at Ever Manila Plaza in C.M. Recto, Manila.  Like the previous event, it will focus on old school anime and well, some Tokusatsus too if they fall to those that belong in the 90s below era.

2016 – Anime Explosion Reborn on March 12, 2016.

2017 – Anime Explosion R2 on March 11, 2017

This competition aims to discover talents in design and the arts.

This is an online competition open until April 30, 2019. Help us create a captivating logo and team for Pinoy Otaku Festival (POF) 2020.  What do you think should be the theme?  What should the logo look like?  Share it to us by means of your design.

ON-THE-SPOT COMICS MAKING CONTEST

May 18, 2019 – Saturday.  We challenge you to create a 4-page comic with the title and short story.  The comics can be a fan fiction of an anime or you can create your own story and impress us.

TRADITIONAL ART CONTEST

POF 2018 Animazing Race

ANIMAZING RACE
Follow the anime characters and clues through our various event exhibitors, booths and personalities.  The person with the most number of accomplished tasks per day will get a surprise prize from the organizers.

OTAKU SINGTUNADO
Are you ready to sing a song once you are called?  This competition will select random members of the audience to sing a song selected from a pre-determined list.  All you have to do is sing and follow the lyrics.  Our judges will determine the ultimate winner.
WHO WANTS TO BE THE ULTIMATE OTAKU?

Patterned from the game, “Who Wants to be a Millionaire,” the contestant needs to answer a series of questions and reach the main question at the end.  He will be given 3 lifelines by the host of the contest: Call your Homie, 50/50 and Let the Audience Shout.


NAME THAT TUNE

You might know the lyrics of the song but would you still recognize the song if you will ask to guess that song by just giving its tune?

ANIME QUIZ

Competing teams will battle it out for the ultimate knowledge in Anime.  This game is divided into categories with varying level of difficulty and points.  The more difficult the question the higher the points.  Team with the highest number of points at the end of the game wins.

OTAKU DEAL OR NO DEAL

Are you ready to win the ultimate cash prize by selecting the right number from our 15 COSPLAYERS or will you agree to the deal by our mysterious Otaku Banker?

THE SINGING BEE

You are competing with other Otakus to have the most number of the correct answer in a battle of knowledge in music.  At the end of the game, be the one with the highest score and you win the game.
