NCPH Event

Cosplay Runway Returns

Cosplay Runway returns at Otaku Musika Festival at Tiendesitas, Pasig City.  This is a very unique cosplay competition which is first ever in the Philippines and is an original concept of Naruto Cosplayers PH (NCPH).  This will also be the first time that the original concept will finally be realized.

What is Cosplay Runway?

Cosplay Runway is inspired by one of the most renowned fashion shows in the world – Victoria Secret.  It is not all about whether you are in a mecha or awesome costume but about how you ramp your cosplay on stage, express characterization and wow the judges and the audience.  There will be a band playing carefully selected otaku and cosplay related songs while each cosplayer ramps on stage.

How will I Perform During Cosplay Runway?

It is just like any other cosplay competition the only difference is that there is no custom background music since a live band will be playing the background music.  You can do a mini skit and display your character in the allowable time of 1 minute.  The good thing about Cosplay Runway is this will level up the competition in terms of the costume because this is a cosplay fashion show in effect.

Can I modify my cosplay for Cosplay Runway?

cosplay runway

Yes, you can modify your costume for the competition.  Remember, however, to maintain the general concept of the character.  It is important that the basic image of the character is maintained since this is still cosplay.  It is not about costume similarity anymore but how you add your own creativity in making the character closer to your heart.

Cosplay Runway Awards

Each category of Cosplay Runway will have an award of its own plus there will be an overall winner.

  1. Icon – Php2,000 in cash. The highest total score on all the criteria will be the winner.
  2. Costume – Php1,000 in cash for the cosplayer who has the most accurate costume and blends with him/her. The highest score on the Costume criteria will be the winner.
  3. Characterization – Php1,000 in cash for the cosplayer with the most resemblance to the character in his/her actions and performance.  The highest score on the Characterization criteria will be the winner.
  4. Creativity – Php1,000 in cash for to the most creative cosplayer in his/her costume, performance and catwalk. The highest score on the Creativity criteria will be the winner.

Otaku Musika Festival at Tiendesitas

Otaku Musika Festival is finally happening on September 22-23, 2018 at Tiendesitas in Pasig City.  Thanks to Ortigas and Company for being our venue partner and allowing us to finally bring this event to life.  It will be our first ever 2-day event which focuses on music plus IT IS TOTALLY FREE TO ATTEND.  Our official hashtags are #OtakuMusika #OtakuMusika2018.

Events at Otaku Musika Festival

Otaku Musika Festival will be a showcase of talents not only from anime and JPop community but also from some related pop culture which we want to showcase.  We will have a total of 5 featured competitions for this event as follows.

  • Ultimate Singing Idol.  We started this event last Pinoy Otaku Festival 2018 and now we are bringing it back.  We decided to replace the Banzai! category with a solo category to give way to those who want to perform solo.
  • Groove It!  We are bringing back our dance competition but now you can perform as an individual, duo or as a group.  We miss seeing dances on events.
  • Battle of the Bands.  We really enjoy listening to bands and so do you.  Enjoy an expanded version of our POF BOTB.
  • Cosplay Runway.  We will finally do it for you,  This is a cosplay ramp where you ramp while a band is playing.  If you have watched a fashion show from abroad well this is somewhat like that – a cosplay fashion show with a twist.
  • Lip Sync Battle.  This will be the first time that we will try this out so I hope that you can support us.  Just bring a mic, memorize the song and moves, lip sync to it and perform to your hearts out.

Otaku Musika Festival Highlights

Besides the competition we will also be having exhibitors and booths as our partners.  Some of your favorite booths from Pinoy Otaku Festival will be returning for this event.  There will also be new partners coming in so that you can make the most our of going to the event.

Join the LOVE BOOTH at Pinoy Otaku Festival 2018

“Ai” is the theme for Pinoy Otaku Festival (POF) 2018 and as you know it is the Japanese term for “Love.”  That is why during the event we are inviting you to come and be part of the LOVE BOOTH which we will set up at the event venue.  Experience romantic love, family love and friendly love in one event and in one venue.

MARRIAGE BOOTH

Do you love someone?  Do you want to get married to that person in a fun way and of course just for fun?  Then, go to the LOVE BOOTH and ask for a marriage license or marriage summon.  If you go there together with the person you want to get married then you just have to get a license and attend the ceremonies.

If you want to get married to someone and you want them to know it then you can get a Marriage License and give it to that person or you can ask one of our staff to deliver it for you.  Just remember that the wedding will only take place if that person accepts the license and proposal.

Before, during and after the wedding we will assure you that you have a photo coverage plus a printed souvenir courtesy of Phone2Prints.

LOVE LOCK

Do you want to express your love by binding your ties together in a special lock with a message in it?  Then visit the LOVE BOOTH and get your “Love Lock.”  This lock can be for friends, best friends, lovers and even secret lovers.  We will keep the lock and then we will bring it again during the next POF where you can get it.

SECRET MESSAGE CENTER

Do you want to send a secret message to someone?  If you do then approach the LOVE BOOTH and allow us to send the secret message to that person.  We will post the names of people with messages so visit the booth from time to time.  Also, we will read random messages on stage during the program.  If you do not want your message to be read on stage or you want to stay anonymous just indicate it.

For those who want to be sure that their message is read on stage or delivered, you can just tell us and we could arrange a VIP Service for you.

How Much is the LOVE BOOTH Services?

We will be charging a very modest fee for the services.  Part of the payment will be donated to Hands of God Charity Works and help people in need.  So give love and then share some love.
